Alone in the Basement
Day to day I sit below
watching sun to shade,
for when night comes too quick
every step's a blade.
Every breath I take for you
when on stricken knees
dreaming up your face
to rescue me from peace.
Sitting in my chair,
picturing up your place
guiding me from sundown
my breath for you I wait.
I cannot let go
removing hand from rail,
tripping down the staircase
our love won't die down there.
I picture you walking through
everyday I sit,
to take me from this shallow world
and everything within.
If "Home is where the heart is."
then this I know is true,
"For my home, my heart, and my eyes
will always be in you."
My love is not a phase-
me, you can forever trust,
in the basement I wait alone
hoping for our love.
Day to day I sit below
watching sun to shade,
in this basement I wait alone
believing for our fate.
