Appalachian Yule
Frigid air bores into the treetops
The precipice ov solemn vow,
Waltzing by soft footsteps in-the-wild.
The calming breeze approaches,
Inept in the ways of the forest.
Yule composes the sonnet ov earthen life.
Nestling by the heat ov vast distance,
Hawks and squirrels, circle.
A resting deer approaches,
Closing the gap within the distance.
Lights now flicker, here, and beyond.
People move, as the season.
The humming heat of winters seat
Provides comfort within the home
In the space between a blink and a tear
Catching the feelings that moat.
With my repose, I hold my own,
Within the hands of someone I once loved.
