Memorial Day
To the dead ones,
Celebrated in medals and camouflage,
Battle fatigue, and gun wound shots.
Home sickness with war packs on
Helmut damaged
Dented in miles un-marched
In explosive war torn battle zones
Countries trying to overthrow..
The will, the law,
the mind, the peace,
What some sons and daughters may never know.
This goes across the globe
To those that are dead that we've barely known.
Do not halt your honor
At the shores of our slaughter
For peace claims the hearts, desire,
And feats of those that marched.
Here's to those, that paid a price
For the selfish and the hungry, from the higher life.
Cheer's to the warrior of the bottom dwellers
Who sanction sovereignty
In bombed out shelters.
From the cold, the rain, the heat that swelters.
To the skeletons with honors
Who lack the worlds possessions.
To those that served, their country and friends.
To the soldiers who won't see their final medal pinned.
For those that fought down to their last heart beat,
May they rest in peace in their eternal Army.
