Monolith
I found it frayed,
Through the thickening fog
Bound up, tightened, slayed
At the river bend wall.
Adorned with a sigil
This monolith stood
Neer-sight as far away
It permeated its call.
Humming as a vassal
The ilk of its land,
Some praised while others feared
What story became of this stone.
Long years surpassed
laid against the slate
Erosion & corrosion
Misted the drab
Crimson creeks rolled
from the ribs of the stag
Tied with it was the bones
So I'll stop where I'm at.
But if I was to continue,
I would've spoke of the site
On what it did that day
At the waters bedside.
