The Avenue
Strive too achieve,
our amounts beyond our needs
to vision what we breathe
is the persistence that we seek.
To those young and old
with timid minds around the globe,
you have to change as you grow
to learn around every corner that you stroll.
So walk within those streets
where unknown faces wear defeat,
some solemn and some bleak.
Just one smile is all some need.
But in the lanes of pain,
there's no turn signal onto shame.
At the crossroads of regret,
just past loss and self respect.
Some missed the turn, right on Check
lookin' in the rearview, to the Left.
Why worry who's passing up?
Just so long as you reach your spot.
You gotta walk a mile before you'll fail,
because patience ain't for sale,
And if you never take that step,
you'll be thumb out, while lookin' to the left.
And if you're waiting on that ride,
success will just keep on driving by,
and you won't stand a chance,
if you don't walk to where the road ends.
