The Challenger
Greyed out the night
In the sound of the sirens
Awoken mind
Trauma to my mileage.
Red turns to Yellow
Green shapes into Violet.
I'm coming home:
Sheets crinkled into concrete
Wrinkled, torn, and thrown
Too still is their silence.
Sway through the smoke
Lane lines chasing sign's
Gasoline, This exit means
Keep driving:
Left's unbridled,
Exhaust in the tail lights
Radio: my roaring breath
The cityscape in neon
Flashes in my eyelids.
