The Spoken Word of the Passenger
Love: we never heard it enough
Maybe our generation
heard it too much.
Maybe from the one's
We never wanted it from
So we stay silent,
Cause there's
no weight to the tongue.
Pushed away
in the heat of the fun
A memory now
of what could of been done.
Chasing life now
A wreck on the run
Did you find love
In the hop's that you chug?
The pills that you pop
When you're in a heap of a slump?
The trees you chase
to find your spirit within?
Was your next "I love you."
Valued content?
Did the kids you make
Fill the void?
Did you plan it all out?
Or was it a mistake of a choice?
Did you dream like I dream?
You rowin the boat?
Or does a four letter word
Lose merit on shore?
You chased around the globe
When emotions was moored,
Did you find your journey
Questing the lore?
No I'm not judging
I want to know more
When I said I love you;
Was it the shell or the pearl?
If I have to ask
Should've known where it stands
My I love you's:
Always the clam.
So from me what you're hearing
Is not what you're hoping.
Ego's got you spent
And the years are atolling,
Your wishes are your wants
Not your needs for the knowing.
My I love you's ment
Not what they're showing.
Let me keep it real
Get ready for flowing
Not water from your eyes
Or the heart that's pouring
In every single thought
attributive-nouns-coring
Some never hear it
So let us enjoy it
Stop pressing on the meaning
When you've never explored it.
You never found your heart
To appreciate true moments.
Four little letters
Can mean so much more than:
What you've heard.
What you've said.
What you've done.
What you've did.
