Let Me Sleep at the Wake
Could someone have the fortitude
To take my breath in the dreams I drew?
I want to fade into you,
Forgetting each face that I ever knew.
Peace once found in a viewing room
Over boxed-up skin in a six-by-two
The tightest fit--best dressed in gloom,
Readying hole where the Lilac's root.
This day is done–tomorrow too,
Lending deeper rest, in an earthen womb.
