We think too much and feel too little 

Engineering Era's built toward indifference 

Lying to ourselves living in a fast paced world 

Emptying pockets to even the odds 

Thriving on slow patience; 

Opting for prejudice rather than compassion 

Under an American sky we are driven by greed 

Respect is only given to the highest bidder 

Selfishness is rewarded as caring costs 

Even in these times we deny humanity a voice 

Living in the moment we scroll past memories 

Venerating valuables rather than character 

Encroaching borders while locking doors 

Separating views while dividing values 

Deepening debt to profit from poverty 

Oppression governs by the red, white, and blue 

Waring for minerals and battling for bullion 

Neglecting the opportunity to grow. 

Drop our programs; raise our taxes 

Overlook liberties in under-handed deals 

Narrow our laws while narrowing our minds 

Telling tall tales in short sentences 

We carry big dreams and carry small wallets 

Election day is near...
