And into the Woods We're Gone
I took to the fragrance of honeysuckle
As ember wreaths of smoke,
Crept up on mine visage
Clasping throat I choked.
Caught within its cloud,
Consumed in poisoned pollens
Beading sweat, in panted breath,
Nite falls dim on owlery watchers.
Feeling distant-steps without you
Whilst clinging to this path,
Dodging trees, from the shades I see,
Who'll be chasing ye thereafter.
A nightmare sky star-crossed us,
I couldn't herald out these words
To muster up my legions
To fight with heart for theirs.
So I took heed within my mind
And devoured with lasting might,
I'd give my dying breath,
To breathe us back to life.
I ran from ghosts--of shaken trees
To reach for you, my darling
Though darkness grows, I sure do know,
That your love now is my calling.
The thought of you, so far away,
Haunts my chambered rest,
Take my hand, and into the woods we'll go
Striding from endless nothings.
