On a Field of Frosted Ground
The sun no longer sets,
It bleeds into the days,
An endless night
Tarnished and weathered
A wielding field of names
Sorrow shakes a familiar hand
Greeting, where loss was founded;
Crescent shapes over footsteps felled,
Thoughts revolve: rounded.
Emptied & Depleted, chance has gone
Under broken bones and pastures.
Echoes fade, in limited breath,
Exhaling to the caskets.
Desperation:
In the whites of our eyes.
Recollection:
A signal of a pulse.
Withering Ambition:
The burning of our wants.
Memories grounded:
Nothing to be proud of
Fall into,
Fixing eyes to dust
Looking back into,
The years of what once was.
