Throwing Caution to the Wind
I threw Prudence to the wind
Laughing as she sneered
Twilight blossoms bend
Waving to her cheers.
Beyond the sky she flew
Expanding wings that burst,
Her feathers tried and true
Hauled down to earth by hearse.
Cracking amongst the ground
Her figure smacking so,
Her larking on the mound;
Her skin wagered for flowers growth.
Such a sight stood paused;
When the horses galloped town,
Crashing at the crosswalk
As her corpse flung into crowd.
Watchers winced and screamed
Some pointed and began to laugh
These events clung to mind
Where one witnessed a reaper's task.
Pull the lawn, remove the soil,
Roll back the sod when done.
A grave for one is now more fun
When it's a party we're piling on!
