Ennui, in You & Me
Pale sheets of slate
Arcanely etched on attrition's crown.
Forgotten dates,
Sealing severance
From a lofty scowl.
It speaks in shapes
Pulling roots over mountains,
And then underground.
A binding name,
Conquers flow
By a rigorous route.
Sewn faces leer,
Come unbound
While witnessing graves
Buried with doubt
A silent shame,
Regret overwhelms
By the heated clouds
Pouring away,
Counting the lesions
Under a legion of shrouds.
I look up, you look down,
You checked in, and then I checked out.
An absent light
The world overwhelms another's frown
These lyrics interred
With the secrets of sound
Steps on concrete confide reliance
conferring breaths between the sighing.
And in these miles the footfall talks
Of the quitting game, by your easy walk
This moving gray parting tributaries,
Walk away from the Humanitary.
