A Gift Unwrapped.
Tasting the cliff notes
That sprung from your tongue
I dive into your vowels making vows
Grabbing vines
From the votive of your voice
Growing heartbeats
A time bomb, ticking..
Skipping a record
Tripping on pins and needles
From the dead legs you make of me.
I get weak kneed
On the thought of you
Running through my mind
When I should have known
Not to sprint in a marathon
When binge watching a series on us.
When biting your lip
With that look that you give:
I play that memory with the volume up.
Rewinding back to the moment
When you did that thing that I liked
Blushing me to pause..
To the point that I leave myself
As a fly on your wall.
Laughing. Blinking. Buzzing: The TV.
The Breathing. The flicker,
The exhale in your fuck scenes.
Releasing a primal urge..
Raising the heat by the tone of your voice
When watching you,
Was all the more worth it.
The beating increases blood.
Lingering for your touch.
In all of the areas of wanting you
In the space that held this lust.
With words, we soothe and tug,
From the couch: greeting rug,
In the room wintered windows steam
By the tension uncovering love.
