Ubiquitous en Quietus

Under nodding leaves of birch,
Bouncing auras on pavement turf
Impressive sights of a Castlevania sky,
Quieting a mid-October earth.
Uniquely finding center
Insipid voices enter
Tempting the darker reaches of want
Other than these thoughts surrendered
Unnerving evenings flounced
Star-crossed longing —winding down

Languished in the ceiling dust
Ornately craving what was lost
Neglecting nights sitting at the bar
Gaining distance by the look you armed
Increasing resistance.
Novel admissions.
Grimaced grieving, not yet addressed

Anticipating the moment when it comes
Nullifying secrets biting tempted tongue
Seeing your face at the bottom of a mug
Wishing that you would refill the want
Erasing tracers, paying with favors
Receipts accrue with regret
Strong emotions stripped penniless.
