Columbia's Heatwave (2026CE)

There are a thousand suicides scrolling
Their own Truman Show.
A thousand breaths wasted on integrity.
A thousand lives, severed in secrecy.
A million times regret lived.
And a billion more die, slowly,
To get the point across.

Our graveyards pile on more problems,
Filling error at three feet in.
Solidifying the severity of each outcome.
While some drive it deeper to seal it in,
Playing with nymphs.
Sending for Pan to play in the wind

Paychecks bombard a twilight sky
Where old men had written our Freedoms with one hand,
while holding the chains of slavery in the other.

And bare bones carry Virginian interest.
Smashing cherry,
Taxed by blood.
Leeched, over the whipping Rhubarb.

Defeat is all the cycle sees.
Caribbean French cane.
Pushing back the Indies.
One barrel at a time.

This Temerity, a flesh-prison.
Melanin jail cells jellied well
Red and blue by white
Revelle to the night's tatu.
Earl Gray Rouge,
Buried in the scent
of funeral perfume.
Drawing a line in the sand.
Marking a place where the ash fell.

Did the hunger burn brighter than the spark?
Did spending for the Bang!
Make the freedom taste better
when lighting it up?
